cucolinwin Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 When trying to install Vista I get:This computer hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu. When I press NEXT I get:Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation.I have tried many suggestions, but no luck! thanks
xyrko_myrko Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 At first you need to post what hardware do you have. Without specification your hardware is your question unanswerable.

Hirudin Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 (edited) It sounds like you're doing a fresh install? Are you getting this message when you're asked into what drive to install Vista? To me (from what you've said so far) Vista doesn't think whatever drive you're installing into is a boot device. If you only have the single HDD this doesn't make any sense...Do you have any flash drives or external drives? Edited May 2, 2007 by Hirudin

cucolinwin Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 There is ONLY one HD which is a IDE PATA drive. I have no external drives or flash drives connected. thanks
Tinker Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Just for more information..1] Is the HD partitioned? 2] If so are you trying to do a dual boot?3] If you are doing a dual boot is the partition that you are trying to install to a "Primary" partition?
