user5591 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I think I already know the answer to this. but here goes.I have multiple windows 2000 domains and I need to bring up a DHCP server. If the DHCP server is in Domain A can users in Domian B get address from it?Thanks
nmX.Memnoch Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 They should be able to provided they're on the same network.
cluberti Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 If they are on different networks, the routers/switches in between need to allow (and are configured for) DHCP passthrough/DHCP relay.
user5591 Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Do the W2k domins have to trust each other or will Domain A's dhcp server lease IP's to anyone in any domain?
nmX.Memnoch Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 It'll lease an address regardless of domain membership...even if the workstation/laptop/etc isn't a member of a domain.
