Slipstreaming service pack/update to multiple windows sources

Recommended Posts

I'm making my own AIO DVD, and I wanted to install a service pack to multiple sources, and then I decided I wanted the Windows Installer 3.1 v2 added on top of that. However, it'd take a while to do all of that. So, instead, I came up with the concept of making a batch file that did all of that for me. This lead to me spending the weekend making that batch file (now 1 batch file and 1 exe) and I have come up with something that contains the following features:

1. Option to install any windows update or service pack to any combination of Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 (including just one type of OS) as well as a single source. It has an option for just about every version of each OS.

2. Ability to install many different updates/service packs (one at a time or one after another, unattended).

3. A menu to select which version(s) of windows you'd like to apply the update or service pack to

4. The program will run any program that can be run from a command prompt, and it may be able to work with the RyanVM Integrator. I haven't had time to test that yet...

My question is - would it be something others would like me to share? Are there others out there looking to solve the same problem? If I get enough demand, I would be willing to release it. Of course, donations would be a good incentive too, but money's not everything =) Please reply with your comments/thoughts/suggestions!

Thanks,

Overkill
