Hello,

Can anyone help me fix this?

I've slipstreamed SP4 and hotfixes into 2k and made a bootable CD. I'm on a laptop with swapable drives, the CD drive needs a particular driver (it can't use the generic ones). This driver can only be installed in DOS and is only happy when large disk support in Fdisk is dissabled restricting me to a HD size of around 2gig. Consequently when I boot from CD I want to be able to repartition the drive and reformat for its full size in NTFS.

The problem: The slipstreamed version bypasses the screen which gives you the option to "setup or repair windows" - so I don't get the chance to reformat the drive. How do I get this functionality back? Also personal settings are not asked for during the setup - presumably this is part of the same problem. Its almost turned into and unattended instalation disk. How do I get the other functions back?

Any help appreciated - many thanks in advance,

Simon Ward

The functionality you lost isn't because you slipstreamed the service pack and hotfixes. It's because of certain settings in your WINNT.SIF for unattended setup. Look for AutoPartition and Repartition in your WINNT.SIF.
