entering safe mode

usually when entering safe mode, it shows me all the drivers and stuff thats loading.

With XPize and Darkside installed (i dont know which one to blame), the screen is just black with a unusual graphic at the bottom (looks like a messed up progress bar?).

Anyone else notice this?

didn't notice it when i did earlier ... let me take a look at it again ... as for the progress bar, it's really how it is

the "normal" progress bar has straight lines of the same height.

this one is ugly and the lines all vary. i dont it even progresses; the lines all show at once, iirc.

would you mind uninstalling xpize darkside, and then test safemode. Please let me know how you get on.

well i guess darkside is not the culprit, however, after uninstallation, the normal bootscreen is gone. instead its all black with some strange dots at the bottom.

Hmmm. Do you know how to use reshacker? and... do you have access to another XP machine?

no, unfortuneately i dont know how to use reshacker.

as for another XP machine, im at my other server 2003 machine now.

can you, (on the machine with the problem) goto the following folder..

C:\Windows\system32 (C:\ maybe different on your machine)

Then zip or rar the file, ntoskrnl.exe.

Then could you upload it to rapidshare.com and provide the link for me?

I'll check the file over and to see if it is a problem with the actual boot file.

since i am on a different computer, i uninstalled darkside to reproduce the problem. now my bootscreen is completely blank (black).
