machkris Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I have AMD 64-bit CPU. But when I replace the ntoskrnl.exe to a customized one... it does not change my boot screen. What do I need to change to modify this?
AlYum Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Probably your processor utilizes ntkrnlpa.exe instead of ntoskrnl.exe for booting OS.
bledd Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 yeah it it's dual core then it'll use the other one
machkris Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 Mine is not a dual core. It is a 64-bit. So will it still use the ntkrnlpa.exe file?
phkninja Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 (edited) what processor is it?you say its an AMD, but there are AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon X2 and AMD Athlon FX. Thats just the Athlon range tehere is also the Turion range as well.It helps to know which processor so we can further definbe the problem. Edited April 19, 2007 by phkninja
