WMP11 - Double clicking media file adds it to playlist

Recommended Posts

I am integrating Windows Media Player 11 with nLite.

I can click a media file and it plays, but then when I click a 2nd,

3rd, 4th, 5th file, instead of it playing, it just gets added to the

playlist.

Under "Tools > Options > Player > Add media files to library when played"

that box is unticked, so it shouldn't be behaving like this.

Here are some reg tweaks I am using for WMP11, could any of these

tweaks be making it not work?!

The only tweak I can see that relates to this is the last one "AutoAddMusicToLibrary"

and this is set to "0" in other words no, don't "AutoAddMusicToLibrary".

Sheesh... I don't get it.

do you have copy to/move to registry tweaks as well? they cause funny things to happen, or at least that I've seen before...

No.

I will leave those tweaks out and install Windows again, see if it still happens.

I am also putting these tweaks in via nLite:

Windows Media Player-Accept Privacy Statement

Windows Media Player-Disable auto-add music to library

Windows Media Player-Disable automatic codec download

Windows Media Player-Disable metadata retrieval

Windows Media Player-Disable MRU

Windows Media Player-Disable silent acqusition

Windows Media Player-Disable starting with Media Guide

Windows Media Player-Do not show anchor in Designmode

Windows Media Player-Enhanced privacy settings

Windows Media Player-No visualization

Windows Media Player-Optimize fullscreen mode behavior

Windows Media Player-Remove all context menu entries

Windows Media Player-Zoom video to windowsize

Its also disabled there too!

In the NLITE.INF those tweaks translate as follows:

"AcceptedPrivacyStatement",0x00010001,1

"FirstRun",0x00010001,0

"LaunchIndex",0x00010001,1

"AutoAddMusicToLibrary",0x00010001,0

"UpgradeCodecPrompt",0x00010001,0

"MetadataRetrieval",0x00010001,0

"DisableMRU",0x00010001,1

"SilentAcquisition",0x00010001,0

"StartInMediaGuide",0x00010001,0

"DoNotShowAnchor",0x00010001,1

"UpgradeCodecPrompt",0x00010001,1

"SendUserGUID",0x00000001,00

"UsageTracking",0x00010001,0

"UpgradeCheckFrequency",0x00010001,2

"ForceOnline",0x00010001,0

"ShowEffects",0x00010001,0

"ShowControlsOnEveryMouseMove",0x00010001,0

"FSControls_ControlsTimeout",0x00010001,1

"FSControls_CursorTimeout",0x00010001,1

"FSControls_MoveSpeed",0x00000001,00,00,c8,42

"ClipFullScreen",0x00010001,1

"StretchToFit",0x00010001,1

"SnapToVideo",0x00010001,0

It seems to be the correct tweak but it is set to not add music to the library.

Thats the library though - its the PLAYLIST I am having the problem with... ummmm.....

As far as I can see from your posts, both the setting and the tweak have to do with the -library-, as you noted. Adding files to the playlist rather then playing them is just the way WMP works I think, don't know if there's a setting for it (but the setting you talked about isn't it)
