RIS vs Ghost

Simple questions, when creating an RIS image, is it possible to configure a laptop with all the correct configurations and install the relevant programs, or is it preferable to get a program like Nortons Ghost. I only have 17 clients, but setting one up from scratch the way management want me to, takes a good 5-6 hours. They don't mind forking out for the most efficient product.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
