Microsoft Dominance Of Os Market Grows

Featured Replies

http://www.infoworld.com/article/03/10/08/...ominance_1.html

Microsoft's Windows accounted for 55.1 percent of new shipments of server operating systems in 2002, up from 50.5 percent in 2001, while paid versions of Linux accounted for 23.1 percent of new shipments in 2002, up from 22.4 percent in 2002

Isnt it funny ? :) Everybody's blaming security holes etc, but Windows is still the most used OS for servers.

Because most company managers (and not IT managers) know a little (if any) about Linux.

They prefer to have something easy for their staff to master and that they know they could have good support for.

I'm studying in computer networks management, and I had dizains of Microsoft related courses (from DOS 6.22 to Windows 2000 server) and one single Linux course (spent on Red Hat 7).
