toastycheese678 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 (edited) Does anyone know a registry setting or other tweak to hide the optional language updates by default in Windows Update? In addition, how about unattended microsoft update activation? Preferably without an internet connectionThanks Edited March 11, 2007 by toastycheese678
ajua Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 im looking for way to hide/disable language packs from being on my windows update list too.so far i have found nothing on this yet.
toastycheese678 Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 So just to verify NO ONE has been able to hide the optional language updates or integrate Microsoft Update through some form of Unattend settings?
toastycheese678 Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Has anyone found the CAB file for Microsoft Update so that it can be integrated into the WIM? A link would be great
HJW Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Hey dudes,Do a clean install, make sure all updates are installed, hide your languagepacks and other updates you want to hide then:1.reboot2. go to c:\windows\3. copy the whole directory softwaredistribution to another location4. delete the dir downloads in softwareditstribution.5 put your softwaredistribution folder in your install.wim c:\windows6.done
HJW Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Has anyone found the CAB file for Microsoft Update so that it can be integrated into the WIM? A link would be greatYou should look for a installer, not a cab file. WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe
toastycheese678 Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe does NOT include Microsoft Update...it still requires that the user navigates to Microsoft Update and install the new settings
HJW Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe does NOT include Microsoft Update...it still requires that the user navigates to Microsoft Update and install the new settingsno s***, WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe is only a update for your windowsupdate engine. To migrate/integrate windowsupdate settings like receiving updates for windows and other microsoft product or hiding languagepacks you should copy softwaredistribution into your install.wim image as I said before And hell yeah - it works.you tried? yu'dGood luck HJW
