Hi Fizban,

The current server has Windows 2003 R1. The new server will have Windows 2003 R2. Will DFS replication work between these 2 servers ?

DFS is different in R2. It's more efficient in the way it works. You should update the current server to R2 before implementing DFS.

Hamins,

if you can, have the DFS root running from the R2 Machine, DFS in R2 is much more efficent then with SP1, as long as the DFS root is the R2 machine, it can work with teh 2003 SP1 machine, it would also future proof your DFS as you already would know it is compatible with R2 for when you upgrade your other machine :)

I'm trying to enable DFS replication from the DFS MMC, but I don't see any option to enable it. It should be in the Actions menu, but it's nowhere to be see. Any idea ?

If you've got R2 in your environment, you'll need to extend/upgrade the schema from your R2 box before things will begin working properly.
