straytoasters Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Or can you hook up a usb hard drive and have it shared too? I am thinking of getting an 8 drive external drive box and I would prefer to just have it hooked up directly to the router rather then having to go through a computer. All the routers (except for one really badly review Netgear) that have usb ports promo it as if the usb ports can ONLY be used with a printer...is that true or just a marketing idea of how most people will use it.Straytoasters
bj-kaiser Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 do you actually have a idea how fast usb ports on routers are? I can tell you, it's just enough for MP3 listening. High volume, like disk imaging, is a no-go if you don't have like 5 - 8 hours time for one image (30 or 40 GB data before compression).
