Google URL-Search doest not work! Search prefix failure.

New user here. I recently discovered that I could automate and preload lots of tweaks and updates into my original XP cd. I tried searching but I can not find out why a certain tweak is not working. The "Internet Explorer-Enable Google URL-Search" does not work after running nlite. Is there any known dependency that turns on/off this feature?

For example, if I search g nlite, the address bar results in "http:///?%20g%20nlite". I am running 1.3 RC2. I have not tried the last stable version. I update to the latest Ryan's updatepack before using nLite and this feature verifies and work after adding the search prefix to the registry.

I tried searching this forum, the net, and the usegroups but no luck.

Thanks!

Good news, I can answer my own question now that I am finish comparing the registry for the pre and post nlite CD.

The following registry entry was missing after running nlite. I needed to add this entry so that the Search Prefix feature of IE would work. This fixes my non-working "Enable Google URL-Search" tweak problem. I am not sure what caused the problem in the first place but this is an easy fix to get it working again.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks]

"{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497}"=""

Hope this helps someone else!
