lizzieb Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Hi - Just wondered what software "professionals " run on your computer when they do a Health Check. I have just recently started a new Computer Repair business in a tiny isolated community and was planning to do a Full virus, spyware and malware check and removal, defragmentation using O&O and full system benchmark for hardware problems using PC-Check.But what about software for the tune-up ??? Would you run CCleaner and Registry Mechanic, or Tune-Up Utilities that does both. TUT - The Ultimate Troubleshooter looks good for checking out start-up items etc. Or should I not go near these automatic tune up utilities. Or just use the Windows tools. I would just love some advice.ThanksLizzie
maxXPsoft Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Depends on what level you want to do those things. I personally have used pratically every utility whether it was a shareware version or else out there and now they are collecting dust since i learned to do most those things on my own with reg edits, .cmd files or vbs scripts. By doing it that way you know whats applied and know where to go to get rid of it...Might note what works for one PC may not work for the next been my experience. Its usefull to have several things available.
Derek3x Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Ccleaner, spybot s&d, Adaware, x-cleaner, virus scan, defrag, and then registry optimization
