usbechi.sys corrupted

I can't seem to get rid of this message, what can I do about it ?

"The usbechi.sys is corrupted, press any key to continue. " I renamed it to uppercase and this message keeps coming up, is there a way to uncorrupt this file so it will work. I used jcarle's compression bin to compress it does it modifype.exe -c the file? how does this happen?

This file is directly from the source disk and I slipstreamed it manually, then used HFslip and then used nlite to remove some drivers and net framework and tablet PC.
