Shark007
How do I install and register NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder silently? I think the registration information is stored in the registry, but I don't know where.I worked with a version of this about 2yrs ago and at that time it was stored in this key:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{EAFD99D7-54B6-4e87-8C7C-6A3C85F8997C}\Instance]I don't know if current versions use the same key.shark

Shark007
I just spoke with a friend, she says they use this key now:[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EAFD99D7-54B6-4e87-8C7C-6A3C85F8997C}\Instance]shark
Nucleus
Yes, that's where it stores the registration information. I have tried addin the reg info to the registry before installation begins, but when I run the setup.exe /s nothing gets installed. So I'm guessing the reg info should be in the switches? Maybe something like setup.exe /s /SN:000-000-000-000?How will I do this?
0d14r3
I dont remember the link but this information I saved from a post here, in MSF Forum.(midiboy @ Feb 22 2006, 02:40 AM) Hiif you are talking about the DVD decoder you have to call the unpacked setup.exe with the /R switch and add your info as usual. Afterwards you find an iss file in the windir directory. With this iss you can call the setup.exe with the /S switch with the iss present in the same dir as the setup.exeYou can also try with my setup.iss but you have to edit the relevant fields with your registration data and the installation path may be different to on your system ...[b] setup.iss[/b][InstallShield Silent]Version=v7.00File=Response File[File Transfer]OverwrittenReadOnly=NoToAll[{055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-DlgOrder]Dlg0={055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdWelcome-0Count=5Dlg1={055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdShowDlgEdit3-0Dlg2={055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdShowDlgEdit1-0Dlg3={055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdAskDestPath2-0Dlg4={055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdFinish-0[{055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdWelcome-0]Result=1[{055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdShowDlgEdit3-0]szEdit1=xxxxxxxxxszEdit2=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxszEdit3=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxResult=1[{055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdShowDlgEdit1-0]szEdit1=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXResult=1[{055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdAskDestPath2-0]szDir=C:\Programme\NVIDIA Corporation\ForceWare\nStant MediaResult=1[Application]Name=NVIDIA PureVideo DecoderVersion=1.00.0000Company=NVIDIA CorporationLang=0007[{055FEF8E-4B86-400F-A5C6-8FAC0042DCD9}-SdFinish-0]Result=1bOpt1=0bOpt2=0Bye,Alexmidiboy,Thanks, I tried that and it did not work the first time. There was no mention of having to copy the setup.iss file to 2 locations. What I mean is when the BASE File is extracted it creates 2 setup. iss files and I had to copy them both to the location but it works YAY. The extracted install directory.Purevideo---Has all base install files|MCE---Has additional install filesSetup.iss after entering Name, E-mail, ID, and activation using your setup.iss was great. for some reason this package does not temporily install to the Windows or Winnt folder instead it dumps it to the current user/local settings/temp folder. The thing is you need to copy the .iss file to the MCE folder also in order to make this a FULL uA install. Anyway it WORKS and that's the main thing. Thanks JohnSorry!!!I am newbie with tags; Edited February 18, 2007 by 0d14r3
