donlon Posted January 11, 2002 Posted January 11, 2002 Sometimes when I starts my Win XP Home, it will not load my startup programs (Icons besides the Clock)and when i then try to restart the comp, a box appeares with the message that XP will try to shut down the program "explorer.exe" who is not responding ..... any ideas ?John
Richie101 Posted January 12, 2002 Posted January 12, 2002 Do you mean that it does not load the programs,or is XP just hiding the icons?
babis Posted January 12, 2002 Posted January 12, 2002 I really need more info to try to help....When did this start happening?Did you install anything?System specs...just so I have an idea...etc...as a side note: sometimes when computer is "busy thinking" and you try to restart or something.. it might tell you explorer cannot respond. Solution "wait a little" .... that's what happens on of my older systems...
donlon Posted January 12, 2002 Author Posted January 12, 2002 It startet for a couple of days ago.I did make sure all my programs is XP compatible before I installed them.I have a ASUS CUSL2-C MB, PIII 1000MHZ with 512 megs of Apacer RAM2 IBM 60GXP 40 GB HD, Creative SoundBlaster Live Value soundcard,Logitech Cordless Keyboard and Mouse.Explorer.exe is that my Taskbar ?? It's like Explorer.exe is "hanging" during startup and won't let other programs start up, my cursor becomes the Hourglass when I move it to my taskbar during this. I noticed that my Antivirus NOD32 apperently is the first that loads up in a succesful boot.Besides that my E-Mail client (Incredimail),AudioHQ (SoundBlaster),ITouch(Logitech keyboard) is starting up and shows Icons in my taskbar.John
