nkbl
Hi,I had just installed the windows server 2003 enterprise edition. All seemed fine except that when I had the win2003 disk as primary master & a winxp disk as primary slave the windows 2003 explorer did not show the winxp hd.During booting, the BIOS recognised both. After win2003 booted, I went tostart, control panel, system, hardware, device manager,The display showed both hds and indicated that both were working correctly. The win2003 Explorer just refused to show the slave disk, maybe simply hiding it.When I reversed the 2 hd configuration. The winxp booted up and showed the slave disk without any problem.I then reformated and reinstalled windows 2003. Result was the same. I applied the method found in this forum to convert the server to work station. It was still the same. Both hds were configured as cable select. It is the same even when they were configured as master and salve accordingly. Both were Maxtor 120GB hd with 8 MB cache. I did not think there would be any compatibility problem with these disks though.Did anyone encountered similar problem? Any suggestion or solution to my problem will be most appreciated.TIA. Skyfrog
1. Go to Start, Run, and type diskmgmt.msc2. Right click on your XP partition and assign it a drive letter.Hope that works
