dogshampoolady Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I accidentally *permanently* deleted all the messages in my deleted folder yesterday. (Outlook 2003) I do a weekly backup to an external hard drive, but I can't figure out where to look for the outlook deleted files. Can anyone help?thanks!
dogshampoolady Posted February 9, 2007 Author Posted February 9, 2007 I backup to an external hard drive using Bounceback. I do my entire C drive once a week. Is that what you needed to know?

markajm Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 (edited) all outlook items are stored in a database file called outlook.pstyour outlook.pst file is located here:C:\Documents and Settings\user_id\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlookuse your backup software to retrieve the file from the external hard drive- but do not overwrite your current one - put it in a temporary locationin outlook click: file --> import and exportselect import from another program or fileselect pst from the list and browse to the temp one you retrieved earlieryou will see a list of all the folders in the pst (calendar/contacts/deleted items etc)select deleted items and finish Edited February 11, 2007 by markajm
Softguy Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 yes, search for the .pst file then import it in outlook. it should work.In the future you can consider using a dedicated software because is much more simple cause the software can save what you want, when you want and where you want it.Personally i use Outlook Express Backup Genie (download & try it fromhere)Cheers and good luck !
