Inserting SATA Drivers

Recommended Posts

A little background first:

I am installing a Windows 2003 server which has no floppy and no place for a floppy to plug in.

I was given a Pre-Install CD which should apparently have got past this problem, but the CD was defective and getting a replacement is proving **** near impossible.

I was then told about nLite which seemed to be the answer to my problems.

So enough of the history, now my current problem is I am trying to put the SATA drivers on the CD using nLite.

I go through the process and add the drivers at the correct stage then burn the CD.

When I use it to boot all goes well, then it gets to the "Press Enter to Setup Windows" which I do and it says "No Hard Drives have been found"

Where am I going wrong?

The server is HP ML110 G4 so I went to this page: http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/se...69_6309.html#31

and selected the download for the " HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003 "

I believe this is correct, but I am unsure on how to find out which one exactly I need?

In the text popup in nLite it says it is a "Adaptec SATA driver for Windows XP/2003"

Thanks for the quick reply :)

appologies, the one I downloaded was the " HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003" not the Smart Array one.

Since you're not sure which one you have tell me which is your motherboard or exact machine model?
