Vista and xp

I have 2 hard disks. Both are sata. On one of my hard disk I have xp installed. Now I am planning to install vista on other hard disk as I don't want dual boot. I'll unplug xp hard disk while installing vista.

Now can I choose either one to boot or there are any limitations.

Please suggest.

You should be able to specify which one to boot in your bios
