Outlook in Windows XP

Frequently when I email from my MS Outlook I will see in the message box numbers that don't make sense. For example I may be sending an email to one person, but the message box will say something like "(#) of 17 tasks completed." Sometimes they are not all able to complete, but my email does go out. I do not have it set to automatically download new messages, and it isn't incoming messages.

In addition, today I sent an email to a few friends and immediately got back a "mail delivery problem" email saying that an email address that is not in my address book is not accepting mail from my email address. Am I sending things I'm not aware of?

Well, that's hard to say (although it does sound very suspicious). Have you scanned your machine for viruses and spyware lately, with up-to-date tools?
