I've been running Vista since beta 1, and I've gotten used to the functionality. I have a hard time going back to XP for daily use, honestly, as I find the Vista interface easier for me on a daily basis to get things done. I'm not a gamer, just a coder and debugger, so I don't care much about the eye candy or DX10 functionality.

Same really. Used it since 4074, and fully since beta 1.

Its not because of the eye-candy because I don't get it!!! But I do find it a lot more reliable than XP!! Absolutely no bootscreens since install date (December 2nd). And in the same period of time, I've had about 7 in XP due to my TV Tuner. In Vista, DEP kicks in before the BSOD which is a really nice feature.

Oh, and also because I got a free copy from MS!.

reason 1: i want a new OS

reason 2: i play PC games (Windows is better for gaming)

reason 3: i like to be adventurous

reason 4: i like a challenge

my first two reasons are what most drives me toward Vista. also it interesting to use a OS that has gotten bad attention from people and what not.

1. MS will force users to move to Vista anyway, so what to wait for?

2. Improved security (patchguard, GPO policies, divided services).

3. DX10, better memory managment, overall PC's performance.

4. I like IE7, it runs just great on Vista and IE8 will be for Vista.

5. I wonder, if I would move to Vista, if vLite would not exist.

6. Vista's theme without Aero and effects is faster than XP's.

But I hate the Start button, which does not fit on the screen.
