JeffRollason Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Under XP the character sort order has changed from Win 95/98/Me/NT/2000. Previously this had the order 0,1,..,9,A,B,C... This is now reversed so that A,B,C comes before 0,1,2..I assume this is EBCDIC rather than ASCII ??Anyway it drives me round the bend as I have an archive system based on hexadecimal version numbers, so files are now listed in the wrong order, if sort by name.To solve this I currently have an extra Win2000 PC on the side, which I use to view directories on my XP machine. Please tell me that there is a configuration option somewhere to make XP behave like Win 95/98/Me/NT/2000 for directory sorting!help much appreciated

JeffRollason Posted January 24, 2007 Author Posted January 24, 2007 That sounds intertesting! I have since turned off all EBCDIC fonts, under regional settings, but that did not help
