New User: Eliminating "Browser Tab" Line?

For me there's too much stuff at the top of the screen. I'd like to make the "browser tab" line (I don't know what else to call it) go away completely.

Also, can the menu bar and the links bar be combined? Why do I need two ways to access help or print or tools????

well i assume you are talking about IE,right? well in ie 7 there are printing botton and tools menu that you can access to internet options and other links so you can remove the menu bar.

or you can install OPERA instead and then you can cotumize it completely the way you want it easily through the options
