fullmetal_ARM Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Hi A friend of mime and i setup a network with 1 server and 6 Windows XP clients. The server is a Debian Linux Operation system Server with DHCP, DNS, and Samba as a Domain controller. the problem is that there's a client called: maq-101 that has a printer attached to it and we want to share. there's a couple of PC(clients) that when a ping to the maq-101 it points to a IP the 192.168.11.22 instead of 192.168.11.27 that it's the IP adress that the DHCP assing to it in that moment.I try to flush de dns cache by typing IPCONFIG /flushdns and when i ping MAQ-101 by the name it stills poing to the 192.168.11.22 instead of 192.168.11.27.i dont want to add manually entry to the host file in the \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc And i want to resolve this problem. Any solutions.
uid0 Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Either set up maq-101 with a static IP, or set up the dhcp server to give it the same address every time?
