Hi. My name is carlos and i am currenly working in a project at work. Here's the thing. We have a Linux With Samba As a Domain Controller. i want to do a procedure using the famous download manager wget to download hotfixes automatically from microsoft webserver and store it in a directory. i want something to check when a patch is available and download it to that directory automatically. how can i acomplish this?

Hi i want to a make a modification in WPI so when one of our tecnichian checks a program for instalation it prompts for a password. The reason i want to do this is because i dont want a tecnichian to install software for example( Microsoft Office) without permition. Can you guys tell me how to implement this.

Like load a .ini settings with the option you would normally use nlite for and the load this .ini or othe configuration file from the command line. thanks

hi i want to install windows xp on 20 workstation in a friend's company. In the unattended installation i want all the computer to have a different unique computer name like WS-1, WS-2, ...... and then join to a domain. How can i do this. What entries can i set in the winnt.sif file.?

Hi A friend of mime and i setup a network with 1 server and 6 Windows XP clients. The server is a Debian Linux Operation system Server with DHCP, DNS, and Samba as a Domain controller. the problem is that there's a client called: maq-101 that has a printer attached to it and we want to share. there's a couple of PC(clients) that when a ping to the maq-101 it points to a IP the 192.168.11.22 instead of 192.168.11.27 that it's the IP adress that the DHCP assing to it in that moment. I try to flush de dns cache by typing IPCONFIG /flushdns and when i ping MAQ-101 by the name it stills poing to the 192.168.11.22 instead of 192.168.11.27. i dont want to add manually entry to the host file in the \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc And i want to resolve this problem. Any solutions.

i found a way to remove the visibles install points of outlook express. Just put this in your cmdlines.txt This is for windows 2000 [Commands] "rundll32 shell32.dll,OCInstall HideOE That should do it.

hi. I created a windows 2000 unattended CD but there's a problem, because i want to remove IE and OE links. In my WINNT.SIF i have in the Components part this: [Components] IEAccess = Off OEAccess = Off the internet explorer part works after an instalation , but the OE part doesnt. I have try this method for windows XP UE CDs and it works, i want to know how can i do the same in a windows 2000 UE CD. I forgot to mention that i used hfslip to splistream IE6, MP9, DX9 and all updates.
