So looking at the Windows XP/2003 Ultimate Edition topic I came across problems modifying the \windows\system32\config\system registry as I don't have media center (or any other OS) installed on a different partition. Searching around I came across this method and this method, both of which boot up using a BartPE disc. I have been trying to use this method to modify the registry but have been unsuccessful. Making the boot up disk i use my XP Pro SP2 disk for the windows installation files and put my SATA drivers in the specified folder. I boot up with the disk but cannot find the hard drive with my current XP installation and consequently cannot find the \windows\system32\config\system. The drives that appear are RAMDISK (B:) CD Drive (D:) and BartPE (X:). What am I doing wrong here?

Appreciate any help!

I figured it was something with the SATA drivers. I know there was confusion a while back about the VIA sata drivers (viamraid vs viasraid or something like that). I was trying to find a topic I was involved in regarding this but I can't seem to find it.

OK, you only have 11 posts. :)

Not like you have hundreds to go through.

Unfortunately the easiest way to test is to use F6 and a floppy to make sure the drivers you have work first of all. I've had problems with certain versions of Intel and VIA drivers in the past with SATA controllers.

I'm assuming you have tried the instructions on http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/36/
