Soupnazi710 Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I keep trying to install Quicktime and I keep getting the same error. It says HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classics\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuicktimePlayerApp\CLSIDIt says i do not have acess to this Key and I should contact my system Administrator. I am running XP and my account is teh only one and its set as administrator. Any Thoughts?P.S. I only have a slightly above average understandign of Computers, so keep it fairly simple please.
Soupnazi710 Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 I'm going to bed and I will have no idea how to find this post again because I'm a new to teh forums. If anyone has any suggestions please e-mail them to me at slicknick64@juno.com. Thanks.
cluberti Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 You'll have to run regedit and check permissions on that key - sounds like the administrators group either doesn't have access to that key specifically, or your account has been denied. If you run regedit you can check the permissions on that key (and any key above it in the chain) to make sure you really do have access.
LLXX Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 You know there are alternative codecs for the same functionality, such as Quicktime Alternative...
