Nakatomi2010 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 So, being a retail employee I've just ordered my Intel Retailedge bundle (Intel D965WH board w/ Core 2 Duo x6300 processor + RTM version Vista Ultimate (When it gets released) for 250 w/Next Day Air shipping and taxes), currently I run XP x64 edition on an Athlon 64 3200+, my intention is to just replace the motherboard and perform a Repair Install of XP x64 like I do on traditional machines that I do motherboard replacements on.... Thing is I'm going to a true 64-bit processor to one which emulates 64-bit, and on top of that I'm currently running a Stripped RAID array between two 80GB SATA drives...Was wondering what the general census is on whether or not this procedure would work.... Under normal circumstances it would be just a simple matter of initiating a repair install, but I'm not sure if I can get away with that this time....Why am I sticking with XP instead of going to Vista? Because ATi has yet to release their OpenGL drivers... Until that happens I wont be changing to Vista.... Not on my gaming rig anyways... I might on my office machine, just because I can....So, repair install possible?
nitroshift Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Ermmmm.... Nope, I don't think you can. But maybe someone else here proves me wrong.
