Featured Replies

Hey is there a registry key i can manage that would stop KB923789 from appearing in windows update.

KB923789 applies to flash player 6 and on fresh installs i install flash 9 yet this update always appears!?!

why does it think my system needs this patch??? how can i prevent this from appearing in windows update other than changing windows update site to hide the update, i want it to think it is installed.

does anybody have this update installed that they could export the registry key

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{5056b317-8d4c-43ee-8543-b9d1e234b8f4}]

Which holds the info on whether this update is installed or not

You can find it by hand. Download the update, use UniExtract to extract it, open the inf in notepad.

And you can also not find it.

Try to add this to your registry:

HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{5056b317-8d4c-43ee-8543-b9d1e234b8f4}","IsInstalled",0x10001,01,00,00,00
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{5056b317-8d4c-43ee-8543-b9d1e234b8f4}","Version",,"6,0,88,0"
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{5056b317-8d4c-43ee-8543-b9d1e234b8f4}","ComponentID",,"KB923789"
