Trax00 Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 How would one go about changing the OS Menu's and Dialogs to Portuguese on a windows 2k SP4 OEM after its already been installed? Everything i can find on it shows to change it in "Regional Options", but there is no option for the Menus and dialogs drop down on this install it just isn't there. Is there a way to enable this option? or another way to change the language? I also noticed muisetup.exe is supposed to do it but i am getting conflicting information on if it can be run after install (but i can't find a download for it anyways).Thank youTrax00Link to M$ info on changing UI
Ponch Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 You can't. MUI is an addon on the ENGLISH version ONLY. You have a Portugese version of the OS to start with.http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/referen...unattended.mspx
Trax00 Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 No its a OEM English version, i need it in Portuguese. sorry if i was unclear on this.
Ponch Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 hum... I must have had sh!t in my eyes yesterday. You are quite clear, I was kind of ashamed when I re-read the title of the thread today Still, unfortunately, the Windows XP/2000 MUI is sold only through Volume Licensing programs. No free download.
cluberti Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 If you've got an Enterprise support agreement with Microsoft, you can contact your TAM to see if they'll send you the MUI for Windows 2000 (although since it's in extended support, you'll probably also need SA and an extended support agreement for W2K).If you aren't an enterprise customer, you're SOL unless you can find an enterprise customer to send you theirs.
