need quick help

hi, i've just upgraded to microsoft word 2007. when typing it doesn't underline the word when it's wrong, it used to do that in the older versions. and when I do spelling check even though the word is wrong it still doesn't fix it. and it ends up saying spelling check complete. can someone help?

at one point it said "Cannot find proofing tools for english (U.S)"
