pmol100 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Hi,I am running WDS as a test now, it works fine, since I can boot with PXE.I have added the PE boot image as well as a Vista Enterprise Image in WDS, but when I use PXE boot I can only choose for the good old RIS, or for the Windows PE image, when I boot PE it boots fine but then it doesn't do anything anymore.I have also created an answerfile with "Windows system image manager" and linked it to the Vista image. But what do I need to do to see the Vista image in my boot menu when booting with PXE ?Thanks
ubernerd Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 The concept is that you boot of a WinPE image, normally you'd use the boot.wim from the Vista DVD to do this. The WinPE in boot.wim is built to show a list of install images defined in your WDS and will allow the user to select an image to install.
pmol100 Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 Allright, that's what I thought so.But why can't I see the Vista image which I have also added to the WDS server ?I have configured the Vista image to use an unattended file on the WDS server, but I cannot see this Vista image when booting with PXE.am I missing some steps ?
