Label a drive mounted from "subst" command

My drive D is label "DATA". I tried to mount an temporary drive from a folder with the following command line

subst x: "D:\folder"

But it is now automatically labeled as "DATA" and i can't rename it. Is there any trick to relabel this drive?

If you relabel your drive D:, then your subst drive will be also inherit this new label. That's the only way.
