Multimedia programs, codecs, DVD player

Alright right now i am trying to reduce the amount of programs i use to play videos, movies and music.

I use Realplayer to play real files

VLC to play DVDs

Divx player to allow for the playing of divx videos

AC3 Fliter to help with some audio enhancment

IF i use K-lite codec pack do i need to keep divx since it appears there is a divx codec included in the k-lite. but i dont not see that k-lite can play real files. VLC also cannot play real files neither can WMP11. is there a way i can eliminate divx player and realplayer through codec packs or other players (do not wish to switch to real alternative)

Only one i've found so far is Storm Codec 5.07RC3. Take a look on google, seems to play everything

I am tempted to close this topic because there are many topics we have had already discussing this exact issue. Use Search next time. BTW I do intend to create a sticky topic for Media Players.

With that said for your specific needs I would recommend one program:

Media Player Classic. Then just install Real Alternative (why not?) and FFDshow.
