Windows XP SP2 Firewall Problem

Let me check if I got it right, the port I defined to be open will actually be opened only when there's a program either "listening" or using the specific port?

The problem is when I define the specific port to be open by defining the port number and not the program iself I don't get positive results even if the program is running.

Thanks.

Because that specific port isn't being actively used on the machine at the time, it's being stealthed, or hidden. The only way to leave it open is if you disable the firewall itself. There, now your ports are open, not some, all. So you can go ahead and disable it and run the test again. Hope this helps. :hello:
