Nucleus Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Hi,I have an EPSON Stylus DX4200 on Windows XP Pro SP2 and I am using the Drivers from CD method on my unattended DVD.My problem is that when when the computer starts from the last reboot, and starts installing all the applications on the DVD, the "Found new hardware Wizard" pop's up and it's asking for the printer drivers, which are already on the DVD and should have already been installed. What I'm I doing wrong here? Thanks
CptMurphy Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 The drivers are installed, yes, but the PC still needs to configure the printer to use these drivers. Just click cancel and do a manual install of the printer. From there you can pick the drivers from a selection page. I forget the steps but it's a wizard so there's not much to know.

CptMurphy Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 From there you can pick the drivers from a selection page. What does this mean? 1. On the main page of the add a printer wizard, hit next.2. You will have two radio selection buttons, select Local printer attached to this computer and uncheck the checkbox that is right under. Hit next.3. Pick the port you are using, USB, LPT, etc. Hit next.4. Under the manufacturer list, select the brand of your printer. In the list next to it, select the model of your printer. This is what I was writing about. The drivers that you installed should be in this list.5. Hit next and follow the remaining steps.
Nucleus Posted November 30, 2006 Author Posted November 30, 2006 You just described how to install the printer manually. The solution I am looking for, is a way to install the printer driver straight from the unattended DVD, so that the "Found new hardware Wizard" will NOT pop up!How do I do that?
CptMurphy Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Have you taken a look at this thread? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=24608BTW, sorry if I didn't understand what you meant.
