Unable To Send Emails

Several days ago, Outlook Express stopped sending emails. Receiiving emails is no problem.

When I hit the send button, the "status" shows that Outlook is "connecting" and that is it. It continues to show this. Outlook will not receive than either. Also no other programs will open and the internet is not accessable through Explorer. The computer will not initiate any programs.

In order to use Outlook for receiving mail and my other programs after this happens, I have to delete the out going email, try to close Outlook and reboot the computer. Most of the time, Outlook will not shut down properly.

Any help would be appreciated. I have tried everything I can think of with no better results.

i am a bit confused here... is it Outlook or Outlook Express?

Outlook Express is installed. Sorry for the confusion.

I have it "sending" again. After much file searching, I was able to reinstall the files as a last attempt.
