FoxHound Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Win Rar is also a good candidate, I think it still supports Win9x/200/ME...
azagahl Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 >WinZip, one of the best pieces of utility software ever made for Windows*YAWN*I've been using free TUGZip, IZArc, and 7zip for years now.
MDGx Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Unless one wants to spend money on an obsolete/limited functionality zipping/unzipping tool, there is no reason why one should use WinZip, when there are so many other similar tools, and most are free(ware):http://www.mdgx.com/toy.htm#ZIPOr if any1 likes the command line, there are always tools like PK(UN)ZIP, ARJ, 7ZA, LHA etc.HTH
awergh Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 winimp isnt there http://www.technelysium.com.au/winimp.htmlhttp://cdn.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/win95/...ss/wnimp121.exe
BenoitRen Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I still use WinZip 8, one of the last versions to not have too much eye candy. WinZip might be obsolete, but I like the streamlined interface, and I only need to handle ZIP files, which it does pretty well. But I agree WinRAR is better.
FoxHound Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 But I agree WinRAR is better. TOO!There is also Power Zip,power zip also has built-in support for Cab, Rar, Tar, Gz, Bz2, Z, Ace and Jar files but you still have to pay up $20 for Full Version
