Bhard Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 If I don't want anyone to alter my document, just read it, how do I proceed? It seems possible to protect the document by using password protection, but how does this work? For instance, if it is possible to do alterations, and save the document by using another name, it is not what I want, neither should it be possible to use copy\paste in order to create a new document. I would like the only option to be to write the text manually from the beginning. The background for this question is that nowadays many persons seem to think that they have found a clever new way of commenting on documents. That is, they simply make the alterations they want, and send it back to you, because it is so easy. Obviously, the result of this is often bad. It also has the consequence that there suddenly may be numerous versions of an original text circulating within a group of people.
