Did your keys show up also? or just the media?

Can you tell us the version of the build? Is it 6000.16386.061101-2205 or something else?

What are the date attributes of the files in the media? 11-02-2006?

RTM for all versions is 6000.16386.061101-2205. Dates are 11/2/06 for all versions. Remember, Vista is built as one product build for all SKUs, and the product key or version chosen determines what bits are installed from that one large build.

Yes, I know, this is what they say, but it would be interesting to learn if it's so in fact from those who had legally downloaded it from MS (or got an actual disc).

Well, I am they and I can vouch that it's true. ALL RTM builds of Vista are 6000.16386.061101-2205, dated 11/2/06 (note the date in the build number of 1st November 2006, 10:05PM UTC). I've been running this codebase since 11/6, with no problems.

ALL RTM builds of Vista are 6000.16386.061101-2205. This is correct. The License (CD key) you buy determines which flavor you can install.
