I have a HP color LaserJet here at the office that was working epic as long as I can remember. Today printed to it myself many of times then out of no where it stopped working for everyone. No errors on the machine and only error I can get is on a test page or sending a print and in the queue I get “error printing”.

It’s plugged into a network and 6 other printers mapped the same way and even some on the same switch are working fine.

I’ve dumped it off the server then added it back. also I just used the same port that was previously configured and same IP.

i've also turned it off and unplugged for 30 minutes. rebooted the server twice, once inbetween the reinstallation of the printer.

it's late sorry if i've forgotten to mention anything obvious, just need ideas of where to go from here.

Ideas????

thanks,

JC

nevermind, long night i just got it....IP address, duh

Try this:

- stop spooler service

- delete all file in the c:\windows\system32\spool\printers if you didn't move it

- start spooler service

Check also the disk space available on C:\ if you didn't move the spooler directory.

Then if all this doesn't work reboot the server.
