Problem with download velocity on Windows 98 SE

Hello!!

I'm having a problem with a PC with Windows 98 SE.

My internet is 8MB and when i try to download a file from an old PC from the internet the velocity never goes further than 100KB and the network card is 10/100 Mb.

Is there a solution for this problem?


What exactly are you downloading from? The servers on the other end have to be able to supply the data at that speed as well, and in the case of websites they usually serve several hundred to several thousand users at once.
