Grimbo45 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 First off Hi all. Long time user but finally decided to come in and post since I can't find my answer. I've successfully integrated all the hotfixes so after loading it up in VMWare the only sw I need to have it fully updated is .NET 1.1 and 2.0.During the installation I keep running into problems integrating WMP10. If I use the SVCPACK.INF method the installation stops and asks me where to extract the files to. If I use the integration method of substituing the files in the I386 folder I get the warning that System Restore is not turned on. I'm going to use Ryans WMP addon cab with his integrator to see if that will correct it. MP10 installs fine but the fact that these boxes and warnings keep popping up annoy me because I want to just completely forget about the installation after I put the disc in. The only method I haven't used is the RunOnce but get the feeling it will be the same issue. I read on a different post while searching for an answer or a clue that this appears to be a common occurence with WMP10 integration/slipstreaming. Last method I used was Bashars (sorry if it's misspelled) WMP Slipstreamer batch file to extract all the files from the installer but I still received the System Restore not turned on warning.Already read that jclare created an integrator for WMP11 but I want to hold off on it for now to see if anyone reports any problems. So just about the above issue, is there a solution to this or something we just have to live with as far as WMP10 is concerned?
just_laze Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hi Grimbo45,I haven't used jclare's wmp11 integration pack, but i have used booogy's - successfully too!see here for more info.laze.
Grimbo45 Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 Sweet! Thanks laze!. This is the last update I need besides the .NET frameworks. Really have no programs I want to install right from the get go since my needs and sw vesions change between installs. This will hopefully solve everything. I'll post later tonight about the results.
