sassytech Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 (edited) I have reccently updated to the newest version of Nlite but still having same trouble...I am not able to view, add or configure Network Connections. If you start task manager, you are able to view under networking that there is a Local Area Connection but nothing can be configured through there. You open network places and there are NO icons there...if you select add a newtork place, it goes through the wizard as if creating a local area network but after completeing, still no icon. I have gone through and made sure all software is updated (which leads me to some other issues) and still no network icon (and nothing shows up in the task bar to indicate there is a not a connection to any type of ethernet or wireless connections)There is no option to add icon either to network places or to desk top and if you go into window firewall and advance it tellls me it cannot connect to the network connections folder it has been corrupted. we have tried unistalling all devices and re-adding them (which is a whole seperate issue). and still it doesnot work. I have gone to windows main wbsite and tried using the items (and instructions) they mention involving registry issues and everything else and it still does not work.IT DOES work with earlier version of Nlite AND without the October Microsoft updates. I cannot find any issues within the updates that would suggest there being a problem (as none were directly linked with networking security issues) but here are updates I get error messages on when trying to intergrate them.....KB916281KB925486Does ANYONE have any idea I may be doing to cause the missing network connections icons??Also on a different subject, I am trying to install on DELL D800 laptop and the earlier version of inlite allows the dell resource CD to see installed compnents and allows you to use drivers on the dell to discs to install.. THE NEWER VERSIONS of Nlite do not allow the Dell resource CD to see the installed compnents EXCEPT the intergrated mouse pointer...and whe you still use to installed known components, they do not work.F.Y.I i do not disable anything in networking EXCEPT remote assistanceAAAUUUGGHHH ......Help Please Edited October 30, 2006 by sassytech
