I've searched but all i can find on this topic is to remove the shortcut.

Does anyone have a reg tweak/cmd file or other method that will set this to Microsoft by default so that Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and Windows Media Player are accessable by default without user interaction?

Love that surfing shark photo. :thumbup

As long as alternate apps are not installed, the defaults will be those you want.

Or did you already know that?

Are you using nLite or similar tool to change default settings for Windows installations?

I think you can change this feature in nLite....

i have a couple of regtweaks to remove the option, if i understand you correctly

; Remove Set Programs Access and Defaults from Start Menu
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSMConfigurePrograms"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSMConfigurePrograms"=dword:00000001

; Remove Set Program Access and Defaults in Add/Remove Programs
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall]
"NoChooseProgramsPage"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall]
"NoChooseProgramsPage"=dword:00000001

I want these links available without needing to go to Set Programs Access and Defaults

I'm seeking a solution to this.

I want Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, and Windows Media Player accessable by default.

apologies, misunderstood.

Not sure why your getting the issue, but you could do a regshot of registry when you set them as default, import during build and see if that works

***BUMP***

I asked this question a few months back and still have not found a resolve.

Does anyone know how to set the Program Access and Defaults to Microsoft as default so that Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, and Windows Media Player are accessable by default on a fresh install?
