StuAllan Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Looked at hundreds of posts and can't find anythiing to help me, here's my problem,XP hangs on shutdown, microsoft knowledge base suggests that it is because of an east asian language pack (don't remember installing it but it is there), it also suggests that service pack 2 remedies the problem, I already have service pack 2 and the problem persists, I have tried disabling the language pack (can't disable greyed out options) with no effect, i have also stopped all non essential programs from starting up with no effect. Is it possible for me to completely remove the language pack instead of disabling it or is there some other way to remedy? Any help appreciated
Ctrl-X Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 You can uninstall any installed language pack via %windir%\mui\muisetup.exe.
StuAllan Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 thanks for the answer, however I think i must have removed muisetup with ccleaner, just formatted instead
