ghost_zero Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Hi,I have a program which shows up and then I press a button and it closes, instead of doing what it should do. I know that this program works perfect on Windows XP.Some fix for that?
ghost_zero Posted September 7, 2003 Author Posted September 7, 2003 that was because of internet went down, i got page cannot be displayed and then: well i clicked on update and so i think it got double posted.Do you know what is the problem?
Corvette Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Try the Windows XP compatability mode (But never try this if is is a system level program like a AV program)
ghost_zero Posted September 7, 2003 Author Posted September 7, 2003 no, it is not an antivirus program and i already tried this, but still doesn't work.any other ideas?
Corvette Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 What program are you trying to run anyway?
ghost_zero Posted September 7, 2003 Author Posted September 7, 2003 well two programs to be exactly. One downloaded from somewhere it doesn't do much and the otherone is made by myself, here I know that the problem is the UPX pack, if used it doesn't startup anyway, although it does on Windows XP - the program was made with Visual C++ .net 2003. The downloaded one I know it is not UPX packed and it was made with I think viusl c++ 5 or something like that. It starts up but then after pressing the one button there it suddenly disappears, no error message only disappear also from processes tab in task manager.Do you have any ideas?
ghost_zero Posted September 7, 2003 Author Posted September 7, 2003 i looked now into dr. watson protcolls, it says that there is an access violation produced by the program, i looked a bit deeper and there then stand that the symbols for the program cannot be loaded.any ideas?
ghost_zero Posted September 8, 2003 Author Posted September 8, 2003 that is no real solution for the problem.THERE NEED TO BE SOME SOLUTION, WINDOWS SERVER 2003 BUILDS UP ON WINDOWS XP AND THERE THE PROGRAM WORKS!Does anybody have any idea which could be the problem?
