Missing option to format/repair

Featured Replies

When installing from the original WinXP Pro CD... you have several options in the beginning like:

* choose partition to install, and format if necessary

* repair an existing installation (if found), use a recovery console, etc

I have created my own WINNT.SIF file to provide with a full unattended setup BUT... I'd like to allow me to have the above options available. I think I managed to make the 1st one semi-available (i.e. choose installation location). But not the 2nd one. Anyone knows how to enable this?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. This takes care of the first part of the problem. How about the 2nd?

Have you deleted any windows directories on your CD to make space for programs?

Nope, all the original directories are intact.

I think i remember AaronXP saying somewhere, that to get thoes options, you need to delete, then recreate a partition, and install windows onto that.

Im not entirely sure though. Im sure he can clarify it a little better. But give it a go in the meantime :)

That is correct. I can confirm that because I have done it 3 times testing my CD's....lol :)

So just because I dont understand this was one of the last glaring issues I had . How do I get back the option to repair my installation. I dont mean right at the beggining I men when it would normally got to the partition thing and ask were you want it I'm missing the option to fix the current instellation.
